AV1 Elementary Streams Allegro DVT compliance bitstreams are designed for intensive testing of AV1 decoder implementations.

AV1 (AOMedia Video 1) is an open, royalty-free video coding format designed for video transmissions over the Internet. It is being developed by the Alliance for Open Media (AOMedia), a Joint Development Foundation project formed in 2015 to define and develop media codecs, media formats, and related technologies to address marketplace demand for an open standard for video compression and delivery over the web.

Unique selling points
Avoids expensive re-design phases and shortens development cycles. Due to their high complexity, video decoders need to be extensively validated ahead of production.
Strengthens the decoder against all encoding features, existing or to come, to extend final products’ life.
Customers
IP and IC vendors, system vendors (data centre SoCs, AI SoCs, security cameras, drones, set-top boxes, digital TVs, smartphones, tablets, etc.).
Deliverables
Elementary streams suite, each stream focusing on a specific video feature to allow fast and simple analysis of potential issues.
Complete reference documentation.
Technical features
AV1 syntax streams
Main profile (4:2:0/4:2:2/4:4:4 8/10/12-bit) : Syntax streams ensure that decoders support all AV1 coding tools
AV1 performance streams
Main profile (4:2:0 8-bit/10-bit) : Performance streams test decoding speed (i.e. capability to decode worst case streams in real-time)
AV1 error resilience streams
Main profile (4:2:0 8-bit/10-bit): Error resilience streams test decoders’ behaviour with non-compliant streams
