Why should I use the Allegro DVT's Compliance Streams?
Video compression syntax and tools are so complex, that it is vital to carefully validate any decoding capable commercial product. Decoding a lot of streams is not enough to certify an H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, AVS2, AVS3, VP9, AV1, VVC or decoder, what is really needed is to decode the appropriate streams! Each Allegro DVT stream focuses on a specific feature to test it intensively.
Allegro DVT provides Compliance Streams for all of the emerging and legacy formats, including:
- VVC / H.266
- AV1
- VP9
- HEVC / H.265
- AVC / H.264
- AVS3 and AVS2
The Compliance Streams are available in a number of packages for each format including:
- syntax test streams – test every possible syntax option
- performance test streams – stress the throughput and memory bandwidth of the decoder
- error resilience test streams – test the decoder for robustness against corrupted bitstreams
